The most common household configuration for modem and routers looks like this:

How to connect my modem and router

It's important to know that ATC modems are set up in "bridge" mode.  This means that your modem is "dumb" - it cannot do any routing or switching.  It does not store any IP information. (This job is done by your router).

Although most of our modems have four lights on the front, we are only concerned with the Power Light, and the ADSL light.  If your modem is properly connected, both of these lights should be SOLID green. If your ADSL light is flashing, contact our Internet Support at the numbers listed above.

Your router will need to be programmed with your static IP address, as well as other IP related information. If you need assistance programing your router, we're here to help! Just contact our Internet Support team at the numbers listed above.
