The Five Minute Guide to Stronger Passwords

Passwords are the first line of defense for your digital life. But weak or reused passwords are still the easiest way for hackers to get in. Do these three things to create strong passwords:

Go Long: Use a Passphrase: A strong password doesn’t have to be complicated—it just has to be long and unique. Instead of “P@ssw0rd123,” try a passphrase like:

  • Idahoisthegemstate208!

Don’t Reuse Passwords: If one password is stolen, every account using it is at risk. That’s why each account needs its own unique password.

Get a Password Manager: Password managers create and store strong, unique passwords for every account. No more sticky notes or guessing which variation you used last time. The password manager we recommend is Lastpass
