Employee of the Quarter: Misty Steele

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average length of time employees stay with an employer is just 4 years. This stands in stark contrast to ATC's longest-tenured employee, Misty Steele who will celebrate her 34th work anniversary this May.

Misty's strong family ties to the company may have contributed to her lasting commitment. Her father, Barry Redman, and his brother ODeen Redman dedicated many years to ensuring the family's business thrived after the passing of their father. Growing up, it was a natural progression for Misty to join the family in continuing the success and smooth operation of the business.

During her adolescence, Misty was familiar with ATC through her father's involvement. But it was during her college years that her professional journey with the company truly began. During summers and holidays, she worked as a customer service representative. "I don't remember feeling nervous when I first started at ATC," she shared. "What I do remember is how welcoming everyone was as they trained me."

When Misty joined the company, the technology landscape was vastly different. Landlines were the primary form of service, followed by dial-up internet and now today with fiber optic internet. Through these changes, Misty has remained on the front lines, guiding customers through each technological advancement. "The industry changes so quickly, so there’s always something new to learn," she explains. "I’ve also had the chance to watch the company grow and expand, particularly with the acquisition of the exchanges in the Malad and Arco areas. It’s been exciting to learn and watch the business evolve."

Through it all, Misty’s favorite part of the job has remained the same – serving the customers. "ATC is a company that truly cares for its employees and customers and is always striving to improve the experience for both. It makes my interactions with our customers enjoyable because I know we’re providing top-notch service."

As Misty approaches her 34th work anniversary, her journey with ATC reflects the deep-rooted connection she has to the company, her family’s legacy, and the lasting impact she has made on both ATC and its customers.
